[00:00:14] You can feel it, right?
[00:00:18] The air is different, the days are longer, and there's just a little more energy when you step outside or even when you crack open a window.
[00:00:34] Spring has officially sprung, and with it comes that restless, exciting feeling that something new is beginning.
[00:00:45] So this is the season where we shake off winter, stretch our legs and start asking ourselves, what's next?
[00:00:55] What are we doing with this extra sunlight, with this renewed energy from the natural state? This is public facing the podcast. I'm Joe Holman.
[00:01:13] Today we're diving into that exact moment, the bridge between winter and summer.
[00:01:24] The activities that wake us up, reconnect us and get us ready for everything ahead.
[00:01:31] Whether you're flying solo, spending time with someone special, wrangling the whole family, or you're gathering the crew, we've got something for everyone.
[00:01:44] So let's step into it.
[00:01:49] Yeah, let's start with you.
[00:01:51] Just. You see, I'm talking about individual activities.
[00:01:57] This is the place where we reset, recharge and rediscover yourself.
[00:02:06] Spring is one of the best times to reconnect with yourself. Yeah. Physically, mentally and emotionally.
[00:02:16] Now we have a wide variety of options out there.
[00:02:22] No impact options, both indoor and outdoor, may include reading in a park or by an open window, getting a good fresh air, journaling or starting a gratitude practice, and even indoor yoga or guided meditation.
[00:02:47] Now we also have access to low impact options.
[00:02:52] Things like nature walks or light hiking.
[00:02:59] How about gardening?
[00:03:01] I'm talking about flowers, herbs. You know, even a small balcony setup is a step in the right direction.
[00:03:11] Photography walks, where we go out and about with our camera. And on our travels as we are on foot, we capture the colors of the season.
[00:03:23] We even have some high impact options.
[00:03:27] Things like trail running, outdoor cycling, joining a spring fitness challenge or boot camp.
[00:03:37] You see, this is also the season of anticipation.
[00:03:43] That solo walk, well, that turns into a summer hike, that jog, it becomes a race.
[00:03:54] Spring is where habits are born.
[00:04:00] Now, for you couples out there, this is a place to reconnect and share experiences.
[00:04:10] And spring is built for connection. There's something about fresh air and longer evenings that brings people closer.
[00:04:21] Now, some no impact options may include movie nights with your windows open or backyard projector setups.
[00:04:34] Cooking a seasonal meal together, that good fresh produce, those lighter flavors, planning your summer getaway, all no impact.
[00:04:49] Now, low impact options may include picnic dates at the park, farmers market strolls, even scenic drives with no real destination.
[00:05:04] Now, high impact options may include kayaking, paddleboarding, dance classes, outdoor or studio, and even partner workouts or weekend hikes.
[00:05:20] You see, it's not just about dirty doing things. It's about sharing moments that feel new again.
[00:05:29] When we come back, we're going to get into the family activities. We will be right back.
[00:05:38] Public facing the podcast.
[00:05:46] Now for the family, spring is like a reset button.
[00:05:53] Kids are ready to go, parents are ready for fresh air, and everyone's itching to break routine.
[00:06:01] This is where we share in the, the energy and the bonding and the memory making.
[00:06:11] Now, no impact options could include an indoor craft day, you know, things like spring themes, decorating, planting seeds, even board game tournaments and family movie afternoons.
[00:06:32] You know, remember, we're also getting into the time of year where we're, we're keeping the eye on the sky and in watching out for the April showers that will eventually bring May flowers.
[00:06:50] Now, some low impact options would be zoo visits or botanical gardens, bike rides in the neighborhood, backyard scavenger hunts.
[00:07:06] High impact options may include sports, things like soccer, baseball, frisbee, trampoline parks or outdoor obstacle courses.
[00:07:22] And also day trips to lakes or hiking trails. You see, these are the moments kids remember that laughter that, the sunshine, the freedom.
[00:07:36] Now also, we're looking into the group activities.
[00:07:41] You know, this is where we meet in the community and we're looking for fun and a shared energy together.
[00:07:50] Spring is when the group chat comes back to life.
[00:07:55] There's no impact options, of course.
[00:07:59] Game nights or trivia nights, book clubs or creative meetups and watching live sports together.
[00:08:09] Go out there and catch a local baseball or softball game.
[00:08:15] And how about the low impact options would be things like group picnics or potlucks, outdoor movie nights and casual pickup games.
[00:08:38] And finally, the high impact options for group activities might be group hikes or camping trips, beach volleyball or flag football, music festivals and outdoor events.
[00:08:57] Let's be honest, this is where summer really starts to feel close.
[00:09:03] Plans get made, trips get booked, and energy builds.
[00:09:10] We have many a spring holiday and celebration this time of year as well, because spring also brings a calendar full of moments worth celebrating.
[00:09:22] Things like Easter gatherings and egg hunts. How about Passover meals and traditions, Earth Day, get outside, give back and plant something.
[00:09:36] Mother's Day, the brunches, appreciation and family time immemorial day. Yeah, the official start of summer.
[00:09:49] Each one is an opportunity to pause, celebrate and reconnect.
[00:09:57] So here we are at the final word.
[00:09:59] Now, spring, it isn't just a season. It's a mindset.
[00:10:10] It's about movement, growth, possibility.
[00:10:16] And it's where we test things out. It's where we step back into the world.
[00:10:23] Where we remember what it feels like to be energized, connected, and hopeful.
[00:10:30] And if you lean into it, as I hope you do, just a little bit, well, it can set the tone for everything that follows.
[00:10:42] Let me leave you with this thought.
[00:10:46] Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that it is.
[00:10:54] So step outside, try something new, and let this season carry you forward.
